Giorgia Bel

Giorgia Bel is a Newcastle based artist working with acrylic, pastels and charcoal.

Giorgia is a self taught artist who started her practice in 2015. She played with paint and sketch to help navigate her way through an illness she experienced in her 20’s.

For a time painting had been something to help an unwell woman heal, but soon became a great love and a way of life for her.

Giorgia uses colour and texture to create depth in her abstract works. For her, it stirs excitement and brings clarity.

She chooses to paint from memories, stories and her imagination, and is drawn to a dreamtime concept, somewhere between what is real and what is brought about through an expression of her inner self.
